I have enjoyed working with each of my customers to create a special, one-of-a-kind “Home, Retreat and Cherished Place” pillow. Sometimes a very intriguing story comes with an order and I wanted to share a few of these stories with you.
The McBrayer Grocery pillow was created by using mid-century photographs and current images to re-create how the store looked in it’s heyday in the 1950’s. The store is located in Ashville, Alabama and was owned and operated by the patriach of the McBrayer family who has since passed away. Two generations of the family now have a pillow of this treasured grocery in their homes to remind them of a special place and time in their lives.
This historical home, built in 1900, is located in Utah. The home is insulated with peach pits and wool and the windows are Tiffany glass. My client, who lives in California, had a pillow created for her mother-in-law’s home for a Christmas gift. Notice the details of the family’s initial and date the house was built are included in the design.
Know a bride getting married?!?! This pillow has the Naples, Florida church where the bride and groom will marry this Spring. What an incredible keepsake!
